Vegan Certification for Businesses & Products
The Sarasota Vegan Society (SVS) is a Vegan Certifiable Entity. The SVS only certifies locally-owned businesses and products in the greater Sarasota region; that being Manatee and Sarasota County. The certification logo cannot be used without expressed permission of the certifying entity, the Sarasota Vegan Society, and its certifying Representative.
A business can be certified as entirely vegan, if qualifying under the Rules and Agreement, or have certain products receive a vegan certification. Businesses and their products must be inspected by the Certifying Representative, the agreement signed, and pay a modest gift fee to the group fund as per the agreement for each business or product. The certification logo can then be displayed, in accordance with the agreement, on the business wall, window, door of any other conspicuous location, or on the product that has been inspected. Only one location owned by the business can be approved for this certification. The only acception is if each location has the identical menu, products and ingredients. The certification for 100% vegan products likewise applies to only one product. For each additional product, each consecutive one will have to be inspected by the Certifying Representative.
To simplify further, if a business is certifyably vegan it will be able to use the vegan certification on every product it makes included in the gift fee of the business certification. As a non-vegan business cannot receive a fully vegan certification it can only use the certification logo per each pre-qualifying product it makes. And of course, any new products added must be inspected before approval to use these logos.
Any business that goes outside of the Agreement renders this Agreement void and will no longer be legally permitted to use these logos on either their business or products, and may not receive this privilege again under certain circumstances. Failure to stop using these logos therafter will result in legal action as a violation of contract law.
