The SVS newsletter was a great thing to come out just as the COVID pandemic started and things were closing down opportunities for us to gather as a community. It is a lot of work too, starting off as two pages and becoming eight pages long for its duration. Once each business was interviewed and as many people in the community wrote articles for it the submissions eventually ran out. There were half a dozen local vegan businesses paying for ads in it; to support printing and distributing the newsletter to a dozen local business. Due to the fixed funds only 120 black and white newsletters were printed monthly. That aside, the digital version was distributed via social media and the internet to over 25,000 people. This is counting all the followers to all the businesses and sites it was sent to and shared by. There is discussion in the works for starting the first Sarasota Vegan Magazine. TBD
